Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Obscura Bureau collects, how it's used, and how it's protected.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information — name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text).
  • Purchase records — which case files you've bought, price paid, and coupon codes used.
  • Game progress — envelopes opened, board notes, pin positions, and accusation attempts, so your progress is saved between visits and devices.

2. How We Use It

We use your information solely to operate the Service: authenticating you, tracking case access windows, saving your board/progress, issuing first-attempt-solve coupons, and communicating with you about your account (e.g. verification codes, password changes).

3. Where It's Stored

Account and progress data is stored with Supabase (Postgres database + authentication), protected by row-level security so only you can read or write your own records. Verification emails are sent via Resend. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

The Service uses your browser's local storage and session tokens to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

5. Your Rights

You may update your name, email, or password at any time from your Profile page. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact the Bureau's records office.

6. Data Retention

We retain account and purchase data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to comply with legal obligations.

7. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.

8. Contact

Questions about this Policy can be sent to the Bureau's records office via the contact details on our website.
